I'm writing this tonight, not with a heavy heart, but with a sense of urgent intensity. Please read and consider my request.
For weeks I've waited and watched as the leaders in Washington rip our country to financial shreds because of fear. Afraid because the public is starting to panic. Afraid because companies are closing their doors after decades of service. Afraid because the number of unemployed in this country is higher than its been in decades. Afraid.... because the news media is constantly telling us how bad it is.
Now make no mistake, it's bad. We as a nation are on the brink of financial disaster. One major natural catastrophe could wipe our economy out.
“if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2Ch 7:14
I am calling for all believers no matter what denomination, creed, code, worship style, or version of the Bible you read.... drop all your walls of defense and join me in prayer.
Everyday at 12 noon, wherever you are, and whatever time zone you're in, stop and pray for 30 minutes. 30 minutes... that's all. If you only get thirty minutes for lunch, skip lunch. Fast and pray. Eat lunch at your desk while working. DO WHATEVER IT TAKES! Please this is important! If true believers don't take a stand together in prayer now, when will we?
I BELIEVE THIS MANDATE IS FROM THE LORD HIMSELF !
I am going to list a few things here as an outline the Lord is giving me so you have a place to start from. Sometimes you say all you have to say to God in 5 minutes and then you get bored. Follow this outline and then when you're done..., LISTEN! Spend actual time listening to hear what God will say to you. HE WILL INSTRUCT HIS KIDS ON HOW TO PROCEED BUT WE MUST LISTEN!!!
- Repent. Repent for yourself, repent for your family, repent for your city, repent for your state, repent for your country. Tell God everything; even if you think all is well and you are completely blameless before His throne, the verse above says “humble themselves”. Repent on behalf of your lost friends and ask God to bring salvation into the paths of your lost loved ones. REPENT!
- Pray for our churches. Pray for our pastors. Pray for the leaders in the church to LEAD by example and not by word only. Pray that believers return to the Word of God and put away all the things that separate the BODY OF CHRIST. Pray for revival; pray that it starts with you. Pray against sin that has taken root in our churches so it will be exposed and cut away from the Body, that we not be handicapped anymore by that sickness. Pray that God would put a Holy Boldness on you to preach the Gospel and tell others about the peace you have in Jesus. ASK GOD TO RESTORE YOUR LOVE FOR HIM AND THE DESIRE YOU ONCE HAD TO BE IN HIS PRESCENCE AND LEARN ABOUT HIM! Pray for His peace!
- Pray for Barack Obama. I don't care If you voted for him or not, he is our president and we MUST RESPECT AND PRAY FOR HIM! Stop bad mouthing him and ask God to help the man. Pray for his health and his safety and that he hear from God and be obedient. Pray for him to have wisdom beyond his years of experience. Pray for his family as well. Pray that they will come to know Jesus personally if they don't already. Pray for the people on President Obama's staff. His cabinet members, advisors, and the heads of all the national departments.
- Pray for the vice president, the speakers of the house and senate, the elected Congressional Representatives and the Senators. I don't care If you voted for them or not, they are our elected leaders and we MUST RESPECT AND PRAY FOR THEM! Stop bad mouthing them and ask God to help them. Pray for their health and safety and that they hear from God and be obedient. Pray for them to have wisdom beyond their years of experience. Pray for their families as well. Pray that they will come to know Jesus personally if they don't already.
- Pray for the Judges on the Supreme Court. Pray that they be given wisdom to show mercy and compassion when needed but justice when that is needed. Pray that common sense begin to reign in their hearts and that their hearts and minds be opened to the leading of God. Pray for their health and safety and that they hear from God and be obedient. Pray for them to have wisdom beyond their years of experience. Pray for their families as well. Pray that they will come to know Jesus personally if they don't already.
- Pray for our Governors, state, and local leaders. I don't care If you voted for them or not, they are our elected leaders and we MUST RESPECT AND PRAY FOR THEM! Stop bad mouthing them and ask God to help them. Pray for their health and safety and that they hear from God and be obedient. Pray for them to have wisdom beyond their years of experience. Pray for their families as well. Pray that they will come to know Jesus personally if they don't already.
Remember to pray in the name of Jesus for it is by His name we have the authority and access to the very throne room of Heaven. When you pray, picture yourself in front of God Himself and know that He is listening to you because He loves you.
Now spend the rest of the time waiting quietly before the LORD and listening for His words for you. If you don't hear anything, keep waiting. Quiet your mind and your Spirit before Him and WAIT ON THE LORD! Again I tell you WAIT ON THE LORD! Wait quietly and patiently before Him. If He doesn't speak to you today, do it again tomorrow. Wait on Him. He will give you instruction and minister to you if you wait on Him.
I am going to do this day after day until I see the Lord begin to move on our behalf and act upon His Word. He told Abraham that He wouldn't destroy Sodom and Gomorrah if He only found ten righteous men in the city.... he didn't find them there..... will He find them now?...... I think I have at least 10 righteous brothers and sisters on Facebook and Myspace alone.......DO I???? Commit to this action and watch God perform His wonders right before us.
